Sagittarii Coaching
We are lucky to have two County (Level 3) coaches at Sagittarii, as well as experienced archers who are more than happy to offer coaching to both intro and developing archers.

If you would like to receive coaching at any point in your membership, you will need to ‘Approach a Coach’. Coaching etiquette requires the archer to approach the coach, so if you would like some help, please do not be afraid to ask.
Many new archers carry on being coached by the coach who taught them on their beginner’s course, but you can ask anyone you want to help you.
It is important to remember that our coaches are also archers themselves. They will usually answer a quick question ad hoc, but please respect their own shooting time, and arrange a mutually convenient time if more in-depth assistance is needed.
Coaching Night
Wednesdays: 6pm til dusk:
So you don’t have to worry about disturbing the coaches’ shooting time we have set aside Wednesday nights (summer only) as an open coaching session. This is your time to take advantage of the knowledge available.
If you would like regular 1:1 coaching sessions to develop your archery to higher standard, you will need to discuss this with the coaching team to design a training programme.
Practical Workshop
Once you have your own equipment you will quickly realise that it needs to be set up properly, adjusted and maintained. Every archer should learn some basic skills to look after their equipment.
Our coaches and experienced archers will be happy to assist. Workshops will be run on topics such as arrow making, string making, tuning.
Drills & Skills
Archery GB have developed a number of drills and skills to help you hone your archery skills, many of which can be practised at home with just an exercise band or bungee rope – no bow required!
