Introduction to Archery Course

To become an archery member, you will first need to join an introductory course.

Spanning over four weeks with two-hour sessions, our comprehensive program covers essential aspects of archery. From safety protocols and proper etiquette to hands-on demonstrations of Olympic Recurve, Compound, Barebow and Longbows, you’ll gain a holistic understanding of the sport. Additionally, we delve into scoring systems, tournament dynamics, and introduce you to the fabric of our club.

This foundation sets you on the path to fully immerse yourself in the exhilarating world of archery as a valued member of our community.

When does the course run?

The course is 2 hour sessions that runs for 4 weeks. 
April - August: sessions will run on Wednesday evenings, 6pm - 8pm.
September - March: sessions will run on Saturday morning, 10am - 12pm.

How long does the course run for?

To complete the course, you will need to attend all 4 sessions. Each session will run for 2 hours. 

How much does the course cost?

The course costs £80 with all equipment provided. Payment must be received in full before the course starts.

What should I wear?

The course will take place outdoor so please dress appropriately for the weather conditions:

Men must wear shirts with sleeves. Ladies must wear tops with straps and which cover midriff (no boob tubes or cropped tops) | Closed-toe, flat, sturdy shoes / wellies | Long hair must be tied back | Facial piercings must be removed.

Can you join under the age of 18?

Juniors are welcomed at the Club, but must be supervised by a parent at all times.

Parents of children aged 14 and under are required to take the Introduction course. There will always coaching and support on hand, but you will need to be able to support your child in setting up their kit and maintenance to ensure safety rules are followed and understood.

Will I need my own equipment?

For the duration of the introduction course, Sagittarii will provide full equipment to get you started. 
If you decide to join the club, Sagittarii have a wide range of take-down beginners and ILF bow kits, and ILF fit limbs available to hire for £20 per month. This can be hired for 3 months, by then you should be proficient enough to buy your own equipment with the help of our coaches if required.
